This track is tough in the Z4. On paper it should suit the beamer, but after a couple of laps the fronts get hot and then it's like driving a snow plough. I tried half a dozen different suspension settings over the last couple of days, basically exhausted my knowledge on race car setup and I'm still struggling to keep the fronts in their operating window. It's going to be a long race tonight I think.

With no practice in the lead up was always going to be a challenge and sure enough the wet conditions caught me out on multiple occasions. With a bit of practice and a dry race I think I would have been good for a 4th or 5th. The next round should be interesting.

Congratulations Chris, well deserved win. Good pace in the wet and much better tyre wear than me.

Thanks Josh. The rain saved me last night and nobody was as suprised as me at the Z4's performance in wet conditions. I really enjoyed running in the wet and all the potential for strategy to play a part with the drying track.
I wasn't sure I'd made the right decision not to take dry tyres before half distance. I could have gotten onto them a little sooner that's for sure. I only ended up doing one timed lap on dry rubber during the race, as it was raining again a couple of minutes after my stop and I had to go back to wets. Based on the first stint I figured that I would be good to run to the end. The rain didn't let up until end and my second set of wets only just made it.
These conditions were really fun. It's a shame so many were unable to take the flag. Well done to Gordon on being the only other finisher and second position.

Well done to the 3 of you. Bloody invisible walls . Biggest surprise was one mid track. Same line id taken 70 times.. Then got stuck between 2 in the sand trap on the outside of the long left. One behind the car and one in front could move about a foot either way.. Car had felt great in the wet when driving to suit the rain just lost interest once stuck.

Another DNF for me , although I liked the wet weather I also hated the wet weather. I didnt have a good setup for the wet and the 996 was loose in the rear so kept making errors and spinning until a high speed one into the wall ended the race.
Qualifying was great with the drying track the leader board was changing every second. It was a real case of the last one over the line had the best track condition.
Sorry to the guys that hit the invisible walls, I guessing it must be in mod. I really tested the track pretty hard and never hit one, I did though spend most of the time in the porsche so it could be car related to...who knows. That series is over now so we just look forward to finishing the Formula Renault series now.
Congrats to Chris and Gordon on finishing. And thanks again to everyone that has participated, a real competitive clean racing series
