I’ll be on later, maybe we can do a practice race if there’s enough people and see if it happens then

Sry just saw this. I'm away atm. Will have a good look this weekend if it doesn't happen again I think we just might risk it, but we'll see first.

More laps and can't replicate, just call it a random major technical issue for some poor sucker

Same, didn’t notice anything odd, ran with the car low & soft and it was all good.

I was able to replicate the issue on a different curb, however I was running a higher ride height and the incident was much less violent than bwana’s and I was able to continue (car got airborne though lol). I’m 99% sure the issue is bottoming out, so I suggest people run at least 18mm front and 26mm rear ride height. I will keep trying to replicate with the ride height I’m running now but I think it won’t happen anymore. With minimum ride height the car is clearly scraping on the ground nearly all the time so it’s shit anyway.

Happened again on the same curb (driving aggressively). Added packer, which helped. I’m convinced it’s from bottoming out on the sharp ridges on the curb. It only happens to me in 1 spot, the outside curb before the corner where it happened to bwana. Each time I adjust to ride the curbs nicer the car gets faster anyway so when I’m sure it’s not gonna happen again I’ll post up some suspension settings.
edit: go back 2 corners from the one in bwana’s pics and it’s the curb on the outside (I think)

I found the problem, looked back at the replay. Here's the back tyres the moment the underside catches on the curb. Will have to run a minimum ride height / packer setting to avoid this I think.

I’m running 22mm front with 6mm packer and 26mm rear with 5mm packer and wasn’t able to replicate with those settings. Maybe someone else can test that. Running soft springs.

It happened again, so I set rear packer to 8mm and smashed the curbs without any issues for 20 odd laps. Just to clarify this only happens on the sawtooth curbs and for me only on one particular one, it’s the curb on the outside where the second drs detection point is, coming out of the tricky uphill s. What’s happening is the underside floor which creates the downforce from underneath (forgot the name) is momentarily popping under the sawtooth curb at a particular point and then the physics goes haywire. In the pics I posted of the rear tyres you should be able to see the floor but it’s popped under the track after colliding with the curb.
Packer settings are helping, try 6mm front 8mm rear. As a side note, I was slamming some of the curbs at Suzuka and never had an issue...

Thanks for your effort mate. Now that we are more aware I think it's a good idea not to have a low ride height (less than 25mm front and 30mm rear) anything less shows up on the motec as hitting the ground and will probably slow you down on the straight. This is only a recommendation , feel free to risk it if you dare. 😊

Id check myself but windows update killed my pc the other day and I haven’t installed motec etc yet. That way we could say you need minimum x packer to not bottom out and people could then set their heights, springs, etc to what they feel is good.
