Ok thanks Josh, was referring to 3rd party stuff really, a few car mods I have are not going to be available on the steam workshop but I stil want them in my game.. if it is in .rfcmp format then 100% you can still use it. I don't have any experience with the old packaging format that used to be used. Right now the workshop has hardly anything in it, so most of the stuff I have installed is from outside the workshop.

Hi guys, just butting in here but I did the switch last night. I got an activation code sent and went to Steam and activated Rf 2, it downloads the game and all ISI content. It also downloads 3PA content as well. Once it is all installed it syncs your game with the workshop, if you haven't subscribed to the workshop, just do it and they will send another code. You can then go to the workshop and just download what you want by subscribing to it and it will download and install it automatically, you may have to restart the game for some mods to install. You can also just drag and drop stuff from your current package folder into the steam rf2 package folder and just go into the game and install it like always. It works fine and seeing as there wont be any new updates aside from in steam, if you want to use newest version of RF 2 every time its updated, then there is no other way than to Steam up!. I have always had the lifetime version so don't know about the yearly subscription stuff. See you guys soon. I have paid to have my current account turned into a lifetime account and am waiting for Tim to upgrade it. Then I can go through the same process as everyone else has done. It's worth pointing out that I emailed Tim about this on Tuesday and am still in the process. So if you don't have a lifetime account I would start the process sooner rather than later because there will be downtime if a new build gets released and you are stuck on the old system. Hopefully see you in that indycar skin I painted for you

ok, all done , 12 hrs downloading, (excruciatingly slow today ) and still have to move a lot of 3rd party mods across and install (which is done as before ) difference for those not familiar with steam its package folder is here by default:- C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\rFactor 2 ... then look down for 'packages.' First load of tracks takes time .cbash and shaders being re written and you will need to move your settings folder which has your setups in it and I also moved my favourite controller json file over. Still trying to work out the quirky parts to steam itself but that will come. at least I'm driving, filters in match maker are the 1st thing I've found useful so far..

All going ok. Had a couple of weird game crashes which l need to look into. Changed a few graphic settings so may be pushing my luck a bit . (everything max except reflections , high for track and off for environmental) could be asking too much.
