The McLaren MP4/8 made by Studio 397 supposedly have a automatic gearbox, adjustable in the garage. On track I can turn the automatic gearbox on and off, but in the garage there is no option to do so, I'm sure at one stage the option was there. ? . Is there an explanation to this or am I "dreaming" ?

The option to turn the auto gear shits off are still in the car setup when you are at the race track and in the pits. When making setup changes look up the top, pick the general tab, they are to the left of the little gear/rpm window. Historically the race engineers recommended to only use the auto , but that's up to you.I found raising the diff preload made the back end stop breaking away on slow corners.
FDG had a championship with these last year when they came out, I won that, I am sure that I was the only one racing with the full auto left on.

Are you using the default GUI ? ive had it in the past when using a GUI made by someone else, there were missing options in the car setup menu. Start up RF2 , pick options , USER INTERFACE , and see if you are using " rFactor2 UI " .
If not that may be why you don't have the auto up and auto down shift on off options.

That was it. Had the Endurance UI installed, changed to the rFactor one, and then the gearbox options appeared. Veeery strange. thanks easty.
